At Holy Trinity C of E Primary School, we celebrate the rich culture and creativity of both our local community and the wider world through our approach to art and design. Guided by our Christian ethos of care, aspiration, resilience, and joy, we inspire pupils to develop confidence in experimenting and inventing their own unique works of art. Our art lessons provide children with the skills to nurture their talents and interests, while expressing their ideas and reflections about the world around them.

We ensure that our curriculum is broad and balanced, with emphasis on developing practical skills alongside critical understanding. Pupils explore a diverse range of artists, styles, and media, enabling them to feel both represented and inspired by the artwork and artists they study. This diversity helps foster creativity, cultural awareness, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.

We are committed to delivering a curriculum that not only equips pupils with the ability to draw, paint, sculpt, and design with increasing expertise, but also encourages them to think critically, take risks and develop their own artistic voice. Creativity is seen as a key skill that enriches all areas of learning and personal development.

As Pablo Picasso famously said, “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” At Holy Trinity C of E Primary School, we are dedicated to nurturing that artistic spirit in every child, ensuring they experience the joy and freedom of creativity today, and the skills to express themselves confidently now and in the future.
