Year Six
Year Six is a significant and memorable year, as pupils prepare for the transition to secondary school and the next stage of their learning journey. Guided by our Christian vision and values, children are encouraged to develop independence, resilience and leadership, while showing kindness, respect and responsibility within our school community.
Alongside the academic challenge of mock SATs and the national SATs assessments, pupils take part in important personal development opportunities, including the much-anticipated residential trip. This experience fosters teamwork, confidence, and a deeper sense of community, allowing children to grow in independence and develop lasting memories outside the classroom.
We are fortunate to have two supportive and dedicated Year 6 classes. Cormorants are taught by Mrs Castle, and Seahorses are taught by Mrs Smith. Our teachers work closely together to ensure pupils feel well supported, motivated and prepared for both the assessments and the transition to secondary school.
We are also supported by our committed Teaching Assistants: Mrs Walker, Mrs Prosser, Mrs Townsend and Mrs Powlett. They provide encouragement, guidance and additional support, helping every child to flourish and feel confident during their final year of primary school.
We look forward to a positive and successful year in Year 6, filled with achievement, reflection and celebration, as pupils continue to live out our Christian values and move forward with confidence and hope.
